BRIGHTER TOMORROWS is a state licensed not-for-profit agency providing emergency shelter and survivor services to victims of domestic violence. 

BRIGHTER TOMORROWS began raising funds in 1983 and in 1986 started offering Shelter Services within a 19 bed facility. The Transitional Housing Program was opened in 1988.  This program currently is able to house 5 families.  Beginning in 1997, BRIGHTER TOMORROWS expanded into Non-Residential Programs which includes counselling services, multi-dimensional advocacy and Community Educational efforts. Saturday Counseling Programs are available.

 
BRIGHTER TOMORROWS is a licensed New York State shelter facility, and contracts with Suffolk County to provide shelter, transitional housing and non-residential services.
Clients are referred via a network of service organizations, the police, hospitals and through a 24-hour crisis hotline staffed by trained agency personnel.
